AI does the typing, you say yes

The owner of a grocery wholesaler (sample business). A product fills itself in from its name, and a WhatsApp seller turns a poster into a product. Every suggestion is checked before it is saved.

The tour, written down

AI does the typing, you say yes

When you add a product, type its name and tap Fill in with AI. It suggests the description, category, brand and price, each marked as an AI suggestion, and warns you if something similar is already in the catalogue. Share & Sell sellers can add one from their poster. Either way, nothing is saved until you check it and save.

Adding products is the job everyone puts off. Each one needs a name, a description that makes sense to a customer, a category, a brand and a price, and a wholesaler can add dozens in a week. This tour shows how AI takes the typing off you while keeping every decision with a person. It follows the owner of a sample grocery wholesaler at eleven in the morning, adding a new line, and then a seller who sells by WhatsApp doing the same from a picture.

What does the AI fill in, and what stays with you?

The AI drafts. You check, change and save. That division is the whole design.

AI suggestsYou decide
A description written from the product nameWhether it is accurate and in your voice
The category and brandWhether they match how you organise your catalogue
A priceThe real price, from your cost and margin
A warning that a similar product already existsWhether to open the existing one instead
For Share & Sell: name and price per size from a posterEvery field, especially the ones ringed for checking

Step by step

  1. Start a new product. From the products page, choose to add a product. A drawer opens on the first step, "What it is", step 1 of 3. The product list stays behind, dimmed.

  2. Add a photo if you have one. The first field takes a photo of the product. It helps staff on the till and customers on a catalogue link recognise it.

  3. Type the name and tap Fill in with AI. The owner types "Basmati rice 5kg" and taps the AI button beside the name. Use the name as it appears on the pack, with the size; it gives the AI the most to work with.

  4. Read the duplicate warning. Before anything else, the drawer flags "Already in catalogue" if something similar exists. In the sample, it points to a Samba rice 10kg sack and a Samba rice 5kg bag. Neither is basmati, so the owner carries on. If one had been the same product, opening it would save a duplicate that would split stock and sales across two records.

  5. Check each suggestion. The description, category, brand and price arrive, each marked "AI suggestion". The category comes back as rice and grains. The description is a short line a customer can understand. Read each one as if a new member of staff had typed it: probably right, worth a look.

  6. Fix the price yourself. The price is the field to treat with most care. The AI does not know what you paid, what your customers expect or what your competitors charge. Replace it with the price from your own cost and margin. The markup vs margin guide shows the sum.

  7. Carry on to price and stock. Press Next to go to the price and stock step. From here the product is set up exactly as it would be without AI. Nothing has been saved yet.

  8. Save when you are happy. The product only exists once you save it at the end.

  9. On Share & Sell, add from a picture. A seller who sells on WhatsApp usually has a poster for each product on their status. In Share & Sell, "Add from a picture" takes that poster. The form underneath says "Filled in by AI from your picture": the product name and a price for each size.

  10. Check the field the AI was unsure of. One size in the sample is ringed "Check this one". The AI could not read it clearly from the poster, so it asks for a person to look. A note says: check the details, then save; nothing is saved until you do. Press Save product when everything is right.

Why does the AI never save on its own?

Because a wrong product is worse than a slow one. A wrong price on the till costs money every time it scans. A wrong category hides a product from staff who are looking for it. A duplicate splits stock between two records so neither is accurate. By filling in the form rather than saving it, the AI saves the typing without taking any of those risks on your behalf.

What this tour does not show, and why

Being honest about limits matters. EasyTaskr has some groundwork for reading a supplier bill from a photo, for voice sales and for drafting payment reminders, and there is a queue page for reviewing AI work. But no screen in the app starts any of those today, so this tour leaves them out. If a feature is not something you can actually do, it does not belong in a guide.

Tips for better AI fill-ins

  • Write the full name with size and pack. "Basmati rice 5kg" gives better suggestions than "rice".
  • Keep your own price list handy. Overwrite the suggested price every time unless you have checked it.
  • Edit descriptions into your own voice. A short tweak makes them sound like your business, not a template.
  • Act on the duplicate warning. It is quicker to fix a near-duplicate now than to merge stock later.
  • Do one product at a time when you start. Add a few with AI and compare them with products you typed by hand, so you learn where its suggestions need most work.
  • Take clear posters for Share & Sell. Sharp, straight-on pictures with clear prices get fewer ringed fields.

Common mistakes

  • Accepting the suggested price. It is the field most likely to be wrong for your business.
  • Skipping the duplicate warning. Two records for one product make stock counts and reports unreliable.
  • Saving a ringed field without checking it. The ring is there because the AI was not sure.
  • Using AI for products you already have in a spreadsheet. For a big list, importing is faster than adding one by one.

What to do next

Once products are in, AI can also watch their stock and suggest what to reorder; the stock watch tour shows how. For setting prices that hold up, read the pricing guide, and for keeping a clean catalogue, read the stock control guide. For a wider view, read AI for small business.

Questions people ask

Can AI write my product descriptions?

Yes. On a new product, type the name and tap Fill in with AI. It suggests a description, category, brand and price for you to check and change before saving.

Will Fill in with AI create duplicate products?

It helps prevent them. If a similar product is already in your catalogue, it says so before you carry on, so you can open the existing one instead.

Should I trust the price the AI suggests?

Treat it as a starting point only. The AI does not know your costs or your customers. Check it against your cost price and your usual margin before saving.

Can AI read prices from a picture?

For Share & Sell sellers, yes. Add from a picture reads the product name and the price for each size from the poster the seller posts, and rings any field it is unsure of for checking.

Does the AI save anything without asking?

No. Suggestions fill the form, and nothing is saved until you press save yourself.

Can EasyTaskr read supplier bills from a photo?

Not from any screen today. The groundwork exists, but no screen in the app starts it yet, so it is not offered.
